Clubs may apply for No-Cost clinics beginning June 1st
On the heals of a hugely successful Clinic Team Program (CTP) program relaunch this past season, where CurlON presented 88 clinics to 56 CurlON Member Clubs, CurlON is pleased to announce programming details for the 2018-19 CTP season.
Once again all CurlON Member Clubs may receive a clinic at no-cost if requested online beginning June 1st, 2018. Those clubs with more than 200 members are entitled to a second no-cost clinic. The deadline for clubs to apply to receive their no cost clinic must be entered prior to August 31st, 2018. After this date, clinics may still be requested, however they will come at a fixed cost (TBD), and presented based on CTP Instructor availability.
While receiving some great 2017-18 CTP attendee feedback, and exceptional insights from our skilled and experienced Instructors, CurlON has made some enhancements to the 2018-19 Clinic Team Program (CTP). Member Clubs still have a selection of 6 great clinic topics to choose from to best serve their member needs. We’ve improved our Strategy Clinic to offer either a basic or advanced level, and made the Build Your Own Clinic more flexible to be designed just right for your group.
Clubs are asked to review the 2018-19 CTP season program details found here and should be prepared to select their clinic and potential dates at the time of application. All applications will be reviewed after the deadline closes, after which time, clubs will be contacted within the first two weeks of September with confirmation of their clinic. Dates are booked based on order of online application receipt timestamp.
For more information on the CurlON CTP, please contact Laurence Bishop, Business of Curling Coordinator.

About the CurlON Clinic Team Program:
Of the 195 CurlON Member Clubs in Southern Ontario, many do not have trained or certified in-house instructors to provide formal training or coaching at the club level for curlers.
The CurlON Clinic Team Program is geared specifically towards INTERMEDIATE curlers. The CTP is NOT designed as a replacement for any Adult Learn to Curl (AL2C) program. As such, CurlON presents clinics after October 1st and will run until March 31.
To service this very important segment, CurlON provides a turn-key, group instruction program to Member Clubs, presented by highly trained and experienced Instructors who follow approved technical lesson plans within current sport practices. Clinic attendees are provided instruction on basic delivery and brushing techniques, skill analysis, and strategy development. The CurlON CTP also offers specialized “stick delivery” learning and video analysis and with applied current technologies. As well, Clubs may build their own 3-hr clinic with selections from a variety of both on and off-ice topics.
Current Clinic Team districts include:
- West Clinic Team (combined London, Guelph-Kitchener)
- Hamilton-Niagara Clinic Team
- Toronto – GTA Clinic Team
- Muskoka District Clinic Team
- Kawartha District Clinic Team
- East Clinic Team (combined Kingston, Ottawa)
