Bright and early ET Sunday morning Team Homan took to the ice in Beijing, China looking to improve on their previous bronze and silver medals from the world championships.
Team Homan, Skip Rachel Homan, Vice-Skip Emma Miskew, Second Joanne Courtney and Lead Lisa Weagle got out to an early 3-0 lead after scoring a deuce in the second end and stealing one in 3rd.
The Ottawa based squad was unbeatable all week, getting to the gold medal final with no blemishes on their record. They looked to become the first team to complete the week with a perfect record.
Team Homan capitalized on their early lead, keeping pressure on the Russian team, powering to a 8-3 victory to become the 2017 World Champions.
