As part of the O.C.A. competition review committee recommendations, Ontario will be implementing a U-18 youth Championship starting in 2016-17. The operational team is working on the final protocol for this Championship along with other committee recommendations. All final details along with a proposed competition calendar will be available by mid-February. The proposed age limit for the U-18 Championship will be that all athletes must be 17 years of age or less on December 31 of the championship. (for Example to compete in U-18 in the 2016-17 season athletes must be 17 or less at December 31, 2016). The O.C.A. will also be developing a U-15 competition that will see young curlers enter the competition stream at a development level prior to beginning their competitive careers.
