About Clinic Teams:
Of the 200 curling clubs in Southern Ontario many do not have trained instructors within their club to do any formal training or coaching at the club level. As a result the OCA gets dozens of requests to do various types of clinics (ex. basic delivery and brushing techniques, strategy, rules and etiquette, skill analysis, etc…) each year. The Clinic Teams consist of a team of 4-6 instructors/clinicians and a Team Leader in each of the OCA’s 16 zones. As a clinic request is received in the OCA Office, details such as date and time would be decided between the Clinic Team and the requesting club, through the facilitation of the OCA Office. Clinic Team Members are compensated for their time.
The qualifications of Clinic Team Members include:
- NCCP: “Trained” Club Coach
- Must be approved by the OCA Technical Coordinator
- Must be able to communicate well with the clubs in the area
- Reasonably available to help with the clinics.
All Clinic Team Members will receive Training by the Clinic Team Leader in their area.
The OCA is currently recruiting for Clinic Team members in the GTA only. Please complete the following application form and email to Tom Ward at [email protected].
