ENERGY ASSESSMENTS: THE HIDDEN FACTS
This is a FREE webinar for Ontario Curling Club Members. The first in a six-part webinar series aimed at providing operational support to staff and volunteers in the community curling club environment. Presented by CurlON’s Business of Curling Program, Ontario club operators receive this instruction from industry leaders FREE as part of CurlON’s business commitment in providing more benefits to our membership.
Energy costs are often the largest cost for curling clubs. Many clubs accept the cost as a given, but there is quite a bit that can be done. This seminar will go through bill examples, retrofit potential and conservation ideas and show where costs can be decreased with relatively short paybacks. There are incentives to be had from electricity and gas companies to help.
Ian MacLellan spent 20 years with Ontario Hydro and 20 years with his own company, largely doing electricity consulting and energy conservation programs. Most recently his company retrofitted lighting in more than 10,000 businesses in the Hamilton/Niagara area. Over the past 3 years he has guided his club, Leaside, in retrofits that have substantially reduced energy costs.
